I had the privilege to document their proposal a year ago, and I recently photographed their pre-wedding. Here’re some photographs from the session in front of one of the St. Louis landmarks; The Art Museum. I got to know the couple personally through a friend of mine who I grew up with back in Thailand.
Pre-Wedding VS. Engagement Session
Pre-Wedding is quite popular in the Thai community, and it’s slightly different from engagement sessions. Although it’s been used interchangeably throughout the industry. Here’s my take on it: engagements usually focus on the ring, those candid moments, and all the reactions, making it all about the experience. On the flip side, a pre-wedding shoot is all about creating beautifully crafted art. It usually goes down 6 months to a week before the wedding day, typically with formal outfits. It’s also a great chance to test out some poses, try out ideas, and just get comfy in front of the camera.
Honestly, call it what you want—it’s all good. Let’s raise a glass to the soon-to-be bride and groom.
